YAML stand’s for YAML Ain’t Markup Language, which is a serialization language that has steadily increased in popularity over the last few years. It’s often used as a format for configuration files, but its object serialization abilities make it a viable replacement for languages like JSON.

In all my past tutorial videos for Docker, EKS/Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, Ansible, etc you have seen me using YAML for the example configuration files, as YAML has become a de-facto format for writing configurations files. The most important reason for the YAML adaptation is, it’s more human-readable.
